Crossroads Care Bexley - Autumn Ball 2009 Our 4th Autumn Ball was held at the elegant Applegarth Suite,Marriott Hotel, Bexleyheath on Saturday 3rd October 2009 The event was attended by The Mayor and Mayoress of the London Borough of Bexley and over 220 guests. The evening was a great sucess with guests dancing the night away to a medley of songs from Richard Carter performing his 'George Michael' tribute, followed by a raffle, auction, disco and a 'midnight balloon' release to bring the evening to a close. The tagged balloons were sponsored for £1 and released at midnight in to the drizzly night sky.The winning balloon tag was returned to us from Kempen,Germany. The sponsor of the balloon tag has been notified and received a bottle of champagne. Darren Tobin,Chief Executive said: 'This year's Autumn Ball surpassed all expectations, particulary within the current economic climate. It has become an annual event in the calender and I would like to thank everyone who came along on the night to support our work with Carers. It was lovely to see both familiar and new faces on the night' There are so many people to thank but I would particularly like to mention the Marriott Hotel,Bexleyheath. Yet again they came up trumps with first class facilities and a professional approach to ensure the event ran smoothly - Julie,Sandra, Sam and the team -a big thank you! I would also like to thank both individuals and businesses who kindly sponsored tables on the night, this sponsorship will enable us to provide support to 16 Carers of people affected by dementia by giving them 'a day off from their caring responsibilities'. Last but not least a big thank you to Winston,Maureen, Jo and Vincent at MG Design Studios for the programme menus (4th consecutive year!) and to Sam & Upendra at 'The Exhibition Business' for the banner, placecards and display panels.' Our 2010 Autumn Ball has been confirmed - Saturday 2 October at the Marriott Hotel,Bexleyheath. Please email d.tobin@crossroadscarebexley.org.uk to reserve your place
